Christian Group, One Million Moms, Urges JC Penney to Drop Ellen DeGeneres as Spokeswoman

It’s too bad that Christians are not a direct representation of who God is and his love, they can be such assholes. Guess what? God is glorified in us, gay or straight period. Christians, don’t kid yourself into thinking that not being gay makes you higher up on the God approval pyramid.

Can prayer time travel?

Is prayer limited by time? Is it possible for a prayer said today to affect an event in the past. I think we all have accepted that prayer affects the future and the now. But what about the past. Is prayer limited by time? One might say the past has already occurred. Has the past already occurred spirit wise? How do we know a prayer said today doesn’t impact a past event that lead to that specific prayer? Can prayer time travel? Just something to think about.

Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus

Awesome! This is reality.

Dream – Pregnant Bride

My husband and I are on our way to a museum in the center of a city. I have been there before and I am giving directions. We are driving together, there was no defined driver’s seat or passenger’s front seat.

We miss our turn and our about to turn around when a flashing ambulance zooms by. We decide to follow it. The ambulance leads us to a house where a very pregnant, very beautiful bride is about to give birth. A fire truck shows up, and instead of the bride going in the ambulance she and her husband are placed in the fire truck. We think to ourselves, “They must be heading for the city hospital, we will just follow them.”

However, they don’t head for the city. Instead they take the bride and her husband down an old dirt road into swamps full of thick sticky mud. The fire truck gets stuck. My husband and I put the bride and her husband into our car. There is no more room so we say to the firemen, “Sorry no more room.” Leave them in the swamp and then we drive away back the way we came in.

Intimacy and Silence

Lately, I have been coming to an understanding about the need to wait on God and the peace that comes when I do. I’m trying to breathe in and out for every situation; slowing down, not only physically but spiritually as well. It’s amazing what you start to hear around you when you are listening. So many times we find ourselves “doing” for God and not just “being” with God. We overlook the importance of intimacy and silence. We forget that nothing we do can cause God to love us more, approve of us more, or think better of us. God’s love never peaks. It is always at its highest level and nothing we do can alter it higher or lower. God just wants us to just be with Him and through that we will overcome all.

The Reality of Hearing God

The reality of hearing God is that no one, no matter who we are, gets it right all the time. It can’t be about being right or wrong. It has to be about stepping out. “God I feel this is you,” then go forward. Many church leaders feel that if you don’t completely understand what you are hearing or seeing than you should keep quiet until you do or “God” tells you more. However, what if we were only given a part on purpose because someone else was given a part, and so on. Together there is a whole. If our one goal when we hear God is to always hear “right” we will always hear “wrong” and never be able to step forward.

Skyscraper

This song carries such a strong spiritual weight.

God does not Change?

Is it possible that God chooses to reveal the diverse levels of Himself depending on the time period, place, and even the people?

I ask this because if something occurs today that has never been seen before in the history of the world or the Bible, people tend to reject it because “God does not change.” What if it’s not about whether God changes or not? What if it’s about whether we change or not? Whether we are ready or not?

In the physical, man has progressed on the development of many areas. Some of these areas include, transportation, housing, medical care, and scientific discoveries. Things are being discovered today that previous generations could have never even imagined. Could these discoveries have been possible a hundred years ago? For example, was the human genome capable of being mapped since its creation? Yes, but it was not possible, not because of anything to do with the genome, but because we as people were not able to grasp what a genome was, let alone map it out.

Understanding that relationship, apply it to God. Is it possible that our understanding and discoveries of who God is has nothing to do with whether He changes or not? But it is dependent on whether we are ready and able to grasp Him in our current circumstance and or our moment in time. With that in mind, could one conclude that the physical advances we see only mirror the spiritual advances taking place and that as time progresses the amount of supernatural activity that God allows us to interact with also advances?

Parental Clones

As parents do we really want our children to mimic our voice, political views, social views, and even religious views? I ask this because many parents express pride in their children for thinking the same as they do. I say this is a tragedy in the making.

If a child learns at a young age that all they must do to achieve the approval of their parents, of others, is to mimic them, the child will never develop a personal voice. They will show a continuous lack of confidence, moving from this to that in life, only touching on approved areas. Not only that, but they are often met with discouragement for challenging parental outlooks. Either with use ridicule, mockery, or rejection.

This is when early “church followers” not Christ followers are created. Mimicking those they seek approval of, many church followers never dare or even know how to speak from their own heart. Let alone speak from the inner voice that God has placed inside them. The early pain for attempting to use their voice as a child is continued into church. As many churches show great discouragement towards anyone with a different voice than what is “current” or popularly accepted.

In the end, rejoice when your child challenges you. No matter the subject or situation. This can be hard to hear, but in the end they are developing their own voice. Be proud when your children go beyond your ideas, views, and achievements. Allow them to be open to their true Father and do not subdue to the devastating future of being parental clones.
